Dunstable karting racers take on three 24-hour races to raise money for charities
Six young people from Dunstable are taking part in a series of 24-hour races, as they try to raise money for three charities.
The Phoenix Racing Team is managed by Sarah and Ian Tyson, and includes teenagers from Dunstable.

The team will start the first of three races, putting their karting skills and endurance to the test at Buckmore Park, Silverstone, and Milton Keynes.
Sarah explained: “We’re very much a family. We look out for each other. Some days they have good days, sometimes bad days… it’s about making sure they are mentally happy and take something positive out of every race.”
The teens from Dunstable include Liam Bidgood, Ewan Bidgood, Lucy Bender, Chloe Smith, William Thurnell and Cameron Westrope.
The team are trying to raise £750 for British Heart Foundation, Alzheimer’s Society, and Refuge - charities which are personal to the teammates.
Sarah explained: “It would just be lovely for them to have managed to raise the funds. It means a lot to them… it’s about their family, grandparents, friends, and even parents.”
The team will head to Chatham for their first race tomorrow (Saturday, April 25).
Sarah added: “They desperately want to be able to raise the funds… even just the awareness.”
