In Houghton Regis on Bedford Road, between Aylesbury Way and Bidwell Hill, there is planned closure from October 26 to 30, which will be in place overnight between 9pm and 6am. The closure is for resurfacing, white lining and anti-skid work.

The diversion route will run via the A5, A505, B5120 and Bedford Road.

In Toddington, Long Lane between Park Road and Graham Farm will be closed from November 9 to 11, between 8am and 5pm. The closure is needed for duct laying and the construction of a reinforced joint box.

The diversion will run via Eversholt Road, Tingrith Road, Witts End, Eversholt, Park Road and Milton Bryan.

New school parking restrictions have been confirmed, with stopping restrictions on part of Church Road in Totternhoe.

The restriction will apply to the east side of the road, from November 4 where vehicles will be prohibited from stopping on the school entrance markings between 8am and 4.30pm, Monday to Friday.

Other planning applications include a single-storey rear extension with rooflights and the removal of a chimney at 1 Woodlands Avenue, Houghton Regis, and a single-storey rear extension with a rooflight at 8 Icknield Street, Dunstable. Both of these properties are in conservation areas.

At 53 Luton Road, Chalton, proposals have been submitted to rebuild a gable end wall, install new bathroom vents and repair external timber framing, painted brick infills and internal beams.
