Putney suffers controversial defeat

Earl’s boxing stable has a barnstorming night

LUTON boxer Gavin Putney suffered a nightmare when he was deemed unfit to continue after just 43 seconds during his fight at Graham Earl’s Judgement night on Saturday, writes James Heneghan.

It was a night of thrilling entertainment at Northampton County Cricket Club with a total of six contests including the main event, the fight for the vacant British Masters super middleweight title.

There were three debutants on show as well, all trained by former British and Commonwealth champion Earl.
