Dunstablians suffered a heavy 62-5 defeat at Wellingborough in their final Midlands Two East South game of the season on Saturday.

The visitors fell behind early on when Kyle Danns went over, before winger Luke Gardiner then crossed to make it 10-0.

That’s how the scores remained until half time, but in the second period, Dees fell apart.

Pete Vickers crossed the line for a converted score, before Andy Fordham followed him, with the extras added for 24-0.

Boro now had their tails up and momentum swung their way even further as Chris Shipman dotted down, while Tom Bryan strolled in as the hosts led 34-0.

It wasn’t long before Boro scored again as Vickers added his second of the afternoon and he competed his hat-trick by racing through a gap in the Dunstablians defence.

Dees saw a pass intercepted as Steven Gall collected the ball and raced in as Boro moved 55-0 in front.

To their credit, the visitors kept pushing and were on the scoresheet when Josh Klymyszyn snapped up a loose pass to score.

Vickers was to have the final say though as Dunstablians ensured they finished the campaign in seventh place.
