Barton Rovers will have to do it all again with AFC Sudbury after being held to a 1-1 draw at Sharpenhoe Road in the FA Trophy on Saturday.

Sudbury took the game to their hosts for the opening 20 minutes and took the lead on 14 minutes when Ryan Henshaw calmly headed past a stranded Kyle Forster.

Barton needed the wake up call and it worked as the hosts lifted their game and started moving the ball well.

Connor Vincent was unlucky not to equalise when his powerful shot was parried round the post for a corner.

However they were level on 27 minutes when Joe Reynolds delivered a pinpoint cross that was headed into the net by Jason Blackett to make it 1-1.

From there, Barton took the game to their opponents, with Jordan Davis shooting over the top and then Elliot Bailey narrowly missing the target.

The second period started as the first finished with Rovers pushing forward, while Sudbury defended resolutely and looked dangerous on the counter attack.

Bailey should have sealed the tie with five minutes to go when a deftly weighted pass found him alone at the back post only for him to somehow head wide.

The two sides will play again tomorrow evening, with the winners travelling to Hendon on Saturday, October 31.
