Stephen O’Donnell: 6.5 - Quiet first half as Luton never really came close to showing anything like their recent away form. Few trademark lung-bursting runs forward after the break as Hatters finally improved.
Dan Potts: 6.5 - Made a superb block at full stretch to stop Hoskins putting Northampton out of sight in the second period as the full back stuck to his task throughout the afternoon.
Alan Sheehan: 7 - Showed some lovely touches to bring the ball out once more and had an excellent tussle with John Marquis. Won’t be at all happy with the ease at which Town conceded though.
Glen Rea: 6.5 - Made his usual whole-hearted interventions to try and stop the Cobblers attackers but the hosts just had too much on the day.
Olly Lee: 5 - New contract in the week but didn’t impose himself on proceedings as Luton never created enough the first period. Withdrawn at the interval too.
Jonathan Smith: 5.5 - Back in the side after illness and got around the pitch with his usual gusto, but Luton were over-run in the midfield areas with Holmes and O’Toole in command.
Cameron McGeehan: 6 - Some lively bursts forward by McGeehan in his role just off the front man as he became more of a threat after the break when Luton finally gained some ascendancy.
Danny Green: 5 - Winger hadn’t really got into the game by the time his afternoon was ended by a sickening leg break. Hopefully has a speedy recovery.
Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu (STAR MAN): 7 - Took the fight to Northampton, as he was the player most likely to create a way back into the game. Set up Pigott with a glorious chance that might have altered the outcome.
Joe Pigott: 6.5 - Proved Town’s biggest threat in front of goal and with some better finishing, would have added to his tally. Glaring miss at 1-0 proved crucial while denied a consolation late on by the offside flag.
Josh McQuoid (SUB): 5.5 - Came on early after Green was stretchered off but never really looked causing the home defence too much cause for concern.
Jack Marriott (SUB): 6.5 - Gave Hatters that extra burst of pace upfront and it was no surprise they looked more dangerous with the youngster partnering Pigott.
Jake Howells: (SUB): 5 - Late introduction for Howells, but it was party time for the hosts by then.
