Blackburn exit makes Parry determined to succeed at Luton

Being released as a teenager by Blackburn Rovers has made new Hatters signing Andrew Parry hungrier than ever to be a success at Kenilworth Road, writes Mark Wood.

Having spent the majority of his formative years at Ewood Park, Parry was glad he had been able to find his feet in senior football at Luton’s Conference rivals Southport.

He said: “It was very disappointing and it’s not a nice feeling having to leave, but it makes you want to become better, hopefully prove them wrong and one day play against them or higher.

“Playing at Blackburn it was never that competitive and going into senior football, that’s what you want.”
