Hatters forward wants to express himself during loan stint at Woking
Attacker determined to impress at Cards
Attacker Taylan Harris is looking to showcase the best of his talents after completing a season-long loan move to National League outfit Woking.
The 20-year-old has had a tough time of it at Kenilworth Road since moving to Bedfordshire from Reading when Luton were a Premier League outfit back in February 2024, yet to make a first team appearance, with loan spells at League Two outfit Tranmere Rovers and National League South side Braintree last term. With Harris unlikely to feature under manager Jack Wilshere once more, he became the third Town player to head to the Cards in recent seasons, following in the footsteps of midfielder Jayden Luker and striker Joe Gbode, who both had stints in Surrey.
Harris gave an immediate example of what he can bring to the club, on target in a 3-0 win at Eastbourne during their final pre-season friendly, as with Woking beginning their league campaign at home to Sutton United this weekend, the forward hopes it will be a successful stint at the Laithwaite Community Stadium, telling the club’s official YouTube page: “I’m really excited to get going and it’s just about getting the opportunity to showcase what I can do.

"I spoke to the manager (Craig Ross, interim boss) and it seemed like I'm going to get the opportunity to do that, which is good, go and express myself. I’m a direct winger, I like to run at the full back, beat my man, get crosses in, get shots off, so I think they (supporters) can expect a lot of that. I want to help the team, score as many goals as I can, create as many chances as I can and see where we can get in the table. We’ve got to be looking at promotion or play-off places, aim high. There’s a good group here and I think we can do positive things.”
Meanwhile, on being able to bring Harris to the club, director of football Jody Brown added: “Taylan offers something different to what we already have. He’s left-footed, athletic, and we, as a football department, believe he will add both goals and creativity. He impressed during a short spell at Braintree last season, and the feedback from their management team was extremely positive.”
