Luton fell to a 3-0 defeat against last season's play-off finalists Brentford on Saturday. Rico Henry, Ivan Toney and Marcus Forss were on target for a Bees side who were far too good on the day, restricting the Hatters to just one shot on target all afternoon. To find out how the hosts rated, see below.
1. Simon Sluga: 5.5
Might have felt he could have done better with Henry’s opener as slight deflection took it past him. No chance with the second and deft flick beat him for the third. Did make one absolutely superb save to prevent a fourth.
2. Martin Cranie: 5
Started off at right back, before injury to Norrington-Davies saw him switch to the left in the second period, a role he might have to get used to for the next few games. Tidy enough on the ball but unable to really get forward.
3. Rhys Norrington-Davies: 4.5
Struggled at times during the first period with his passing as a number were picked off by the Bees attackers when they pressed with a herd mentality. Couldn’t keep up with Mbeumo for the second and off at the break due to injury.
4. Tom Lockyer: 4.5
Poor clearance led to Henry being able to power home the Bees first goal and get the early strike that Town were desperate to avoid. Shifted to right back in the second period as Luton had to mix and match defensively.
