Luton Town edged past Cardiff City at Kenilworth Road last night to climb out of the Championship relegation zone.
Jacob Brown scored the only goal of the game on 57 minutes, and to find out how the Hatters rated during the evening, see below.

5. Amari'i Bell: 7.5
Second start in succession as his return to the side to add that natural balance as the left sided centre half meant Luton never really looked conceding on the night. Despite the general lack of quality in the opening 45 minutes, he still looked to bring the ball out of defence, only to see his attempted forays often ended by a tug on the shirt to stop them in their tracks. Tackled well to prevent City from having too many threats and now it remains to be seen whether he can go again at Middlesbrough after his recent absence due to a hamstring injury. Photo: David Horn

6. Alfie Doughty: 6.5
His corners had been fairly hit and miss in the early stages, often cut out by the first man. However, when he got it spot on, it paid off handsomely, as his pinpoint delivery was headed home by Brown. Became fare more of a consistent threat when Town assumed control, picking out McGuiness from another set-piece and linking well with Morris, almost finding Adebayo to make it 2-0. Looked like he suffered a serious ankle injury in the closing stages but having had treatment was somehow able to hobble back on, although is now surely a major doubt for Saturday. 7. Jordan Clark: 6
A tough watch in the first half saw precious few moments of quality from either side as Luton's midfield was often bypassed when the defence went straight into the attackers. Couldn't quite find his radar when trying the crossfield switch himself, but as the game improved, so did he after, with a few waltzing runs and neat passes, outmuscling the diminutive Siopis to get Luton on the front foot too. Couldn't quite spin and meet McGuinness's header from another corner to put the game beyond Cardiff, but it mattered not. Photo: David Horn

8. Tom Krauß (STAR MAN): 7.5
Flew around the pitch from minute one to when he came off just before the end, making eight tackles in total, far more than any other Luton player. It was his pressing and infectious enthusiasm that helped to wake up the home supporters on what was becoming a fairly quiet night at Kenilworth Road, rousing them in the close stages with victory in their grasp. Couldn't quite pick that killer pass out as he had done in previous games, but left everything out there in order for the Hatters to secure what was a hugely important three points.
