Luton Town failed to drive home their advantage against a 10-man Nottingham Forest side last night as they were held to a 1-1 draw on home soil. Glen Rea scored the opener midway through the first half, but then netted an own goal after the break as the spoils were shared. To find out how the hosts rated on the evening, see below.
5. Issa Kabore: 7.5
In the rather unnatural position of left sided centre half as Edwards shuffled his pack defensively to try and avoid a repeat of the second 45 minutes at Bournemouth just a few days earlier. Responded well to his new role, showing some good awareness when facing Origi, also staying on the right side of the referee having been booked in the early stages. Able to get back and cover when Origi beat Kaminski, even though it was running wide, he looked confident in what was a confident display at the back. Photo: Liam Smith
6. Alfie Doughty: 6.5
Having played so many minutes in a position that requires him to be at full throttle from the moment he steps on to the pitch to the moment he comes off, then it appeared to have finally caught up with him at the weekend. Took up some good positions to send over a few crosses, but it was clear the tank was drained and he had to be replaced with a sore hamstring at half time. Hopefully more precaution rather than anything serious as the international break will do wonders for him ahead of the run-in. Photo: Liam Smith
7. Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu: 8
First start since early December but didn't show any signs of rustiness, making a terrific sliding challenge early on to get the crowd going. Appeared to injure himself when making the tackle though, which was to become an unfortunate theme of his afternoon. Terrific both with and without the ball, also showing a brilliant touch over Murillo and cross that was almost put in by a visiting defender. Having run off his knocks, took another when pushed into the hoardings by Murillo, the disappointment etched on his face when having to concede defeat and go off. Photo: Liam Smith
8. Ross Barkley: 7.5
Looked to have only one thing on his mind in the early stages, and that was to shoot pretty much on sight, having three efforts, two that were saved by Selz, with another flashing narrowly wide. Forest wised up to that threat though and were able to close the spaces, preventing the midfielder having as much of a threat afterwards. He still looked to get on the ball when possible though, and still had a major impact when his late corner led to Berry's leveller. Was also the victim of one of the worst decisions for a foul ever made by referee Darren England. Photo: Liam Smith
