Luton Town failed to drive home their advantage against a 10-man Nottingham Forest side last night as they were held to a 1-1 draw on home soil. Glen Rea scored the opener midway through the first half, but then netted an own goal after the break as the spoils were shared. To find out how the hosts rated on the evening, see below.
9. Jordan Clark: 6.5
Moved further forward from his deeper midfield role with Mpanzu coming back into the side but didn't ever have things his own way in an attacking sense. Made some good forays into the box at times with his jinking runs, only for Forest to have enough men back or his final pass go astray. One sight of goal, he volleyed miles over on his left foot as with things looking bleak, he was replaced by Berry in the closing stages. Photo: Liam Smith
10. Tahith Chong: 7
Thankfully he was able to feature again after taking a nasty whack in the midweek defeat to Bournemouth, but couldn't quite replicate the exciting combination he had with Doughty that worked so promisingly on the south coast. Moved around on the pitch a fair bit, as he went to the wingback role for the start of the second period with Doughty taken off, but always looked to get at his man and beat them when the chance arose. Also sniffing around in the area when Berry scored the leveller. Photo: Liam Smith
11. Carlton Morris: 7
Linked up well with his team-mates in the first period, as he teed up Barkley for an early attempt that was saved. Once again he found he had little or no protection from the man in the middle, often sent tumbling and simply told to get up and carry on, while the Hatters were penalised for similar, if not exact replica, offences. Didn't have a great deal of support or chances to add to his personal tally after the break as Town looked to be on their way to defeat number 18 until Berry struck. Photo: Liam Smith
12. Cauley Woodrow (SUB): 5.5
Had the entire second half after Doughty had go off due to a hamstring injury, but as Forest were in the ascendancy to begin with and then looked to close the game out, while Luton struggled with their energy levels, understandably so being a third game in the week, his impact on proceedings was limited, as shown in managing just eight touches of the ball in total.
