Jarrod Bowen and Kurt Zouma scored for the visitors, before Mads Andersen pulled one back in stoppage time for the Hatters, and to find out how Town’s players rated on the evening, see below.
9. Tahith Chong: 7
One of the more lively for the Hatters throughout the contest, as he wanted to get on the ball and drive at his opponents on the left whenever the opportunity arose. Tricky feet got the crowd off their seats and always eager to find a shooting chance, having a number blocked away. Shame he couldn't adjust his feet properly when found in the box, nudging behind from a corner late in the first half. Made way late on for Woodrow. Photo: Liam Smith
10. Elijah Adebayo: 6
Was a presence in the first half in particular, as he tried to get about the Hammers back-line as it appeared like he might be able to get some joy. Premier League defenders are a different proposition though, often finding the ball taken off his toe. With chances at a premium, he skied a decent one over, before not anticipating Nakamba's inviting cross after the interval, unable to turn it in at the back post. Photo: Liam Smith
11. Carlton Morris: 6.5
Another who tried to impose himself on the visiting defence, but it was tough against the powerful Zouma. Able to break free to send one looping header on to the roof of the net, while in the second period, his close range drive took a nick on its way over, not seen by the officials. Defended Ward-Prowse's corners well until Luton lost Zouma late on, but did grab an assist when setting up Andersen in stoppage time and should have had his own chance from the penalty spot too. 12. Jacob Brown (SUB): 6.5
Always has an impact when coming on as he breathed new life into the Hatters once more. Energetic and full of running, he won an early corner and must surely be pushing for a start soon. Photo: Liam Smith
