Luton ended a wait of nearly 30 years to beat Barnsley in the league at Kenilworth Road on Tuesday night with a 2-1 success. Allan Campbell scored the opening goal in the first period, before Elijah Adebayo's penalty on the hour sealed victory. To find out how the Town players rated on the evening, see below.
9. Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu: 7
Got about the pitch well as he dropped back in to help guard against the Tykes counter attacks when he needed to. One of the few whose passing was on point throughout the evening, very rarely giving the ball away.
10. Harry Cornick: 5.5
Back in from the start for the first time since late November but couldn't make the most of his openings, sending one cross straight out and another attempt wide. Picked out Adebayo well in the second half and the minutes will do him good.
11. Elijah Adebayo: 6.5
Tried manfully upfront following his recall to the team as he was given little to work with for long periods. Deserves so much credit for keeping his cool during Barnsley's antics of his superb penalty and should have had a second too.
12. Fred Onyedinma (SUB): 7.5
His introduction really helped sway the game in Luton’s favour as he sprinted into the area to reach a loose ball first, brought down by Collins for a clear penalty. Pace and trickery caused more problems afterwards too.
