Luton picked up their first victory of the season on Saturday as they defeated Millwall 1-0 at the Den.
Teden Mengi’s terrific strike on 10 minutes was enough for the Hatters to emerge triumphant and to find out how the visitors rated on the afternoon, see below.

5. Teden Mengi: 8
Produced a finish not in keeping with that of a centre half when brilliantly sidefooting into the net from 20 yards to score what was the only goal of the contest and the Hatters' first on the road in the Championship this campaign. Thought he had a second only to be denied by Jensen on his left foot as he was already away celebrating but for a sharp stop from the Lions keeper. After being booked for kicking the ball away, he almost got a second yellow for a needless foul moments later, managing to keep on the right side of the officials in the second period. 6. Amari’i Bell: 7.5
Didn’t show any signs of tiredness from the distances he had travelled during the week, heading to both Jamaica and Honduras while others stayed in Bedfordshire, as he gave another display that oozed confidence. Switched out to the left wingback role which saw Doughty over to the right hand side, as he did his job defensively, particularly good in the air against his Lions opponents, with what was an assured and solid outing. 7. Marvelous Nakamba: 7
So good to see him back in the starting line-up for Luton in a league game after eight months away as if he can stay fit, he will be a key performer for the Hatters this term given his influence when Town were last at this level. Kept things relatively simple as he eased his way into the contest, although was part of the goal when he picked up a clearance just outside the box and found Walsh to set up Mengi. Able to provide an effective screen for his defence, he got through a good 69 minutes before making way for Mpanzu. Photo: Liam Smith

8. Liam Walsh: 7.5
Given his full debut for the Hatters and it was a terrier-like display from the midfielder, who stuck to his word of trying to win every tackle on the pitch. Showed his quality by teeing up Mengi for the winner and always eager to get the ball from his defence, even if things went awry now and again. Full blooded challenge with Honeyman saw referee Smith unnecessarily get involved to calm proceedings that weren’t even heated. Not afraid to shoot either, one curler saved by Jensen, but should have made it 2-0 only to fire straight at the keeper. Off late on, he played an important role in the victory.
