Luton ended a run of two straight defeats with an excellent 1-0 win at Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday. Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu's goal with 16 minutes remaining was enough for Nathan Jones' side to emerge victorious, the midfielder rifling into the bottom corner just moments after the Owls were reduced to 10 men. To find out how the visitors rated on the afternoon, see below.
5. Matty Pearson: 8
Played in the middle of the five-man defence and kept things simple, clearing the danger when he needed to, making some vital interventions as the Owls upped their efforts after falling a goal behind.
6. Tom Lockyer: 8
First league start for the Hatters as Luton played an extra defender and looked at home straight away. Brought the ball out of defence well, had a fine array of passing and went close to his first goal, an angled volley flying narrowly wide.
7. Joe Morrell: 8
Part of a newlook Town midfield on what was his full Championship debut and looked like he had been around for years. Always an option for his team-mates and very rarely gave possession away.
8. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall: 8
Another who was making his second tier bow and was a mirror image of opponent Bannan with his left foot and low centre of gravity. Knitted the play together expertly and looks to have a huge amount of quality.
