Luton moved into serious play-off contention after an excellent 1-0 victory at Swansea City last night. The visitors scored the only goal of the game with 18 minutes to go, substitute Harry Cornick netting an eighth of the season from Cameron Jerome's pass and to find out how Town's players rated on the evening, see below.
9. Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu: 8
Has played every minute since Luton returned from their enforced Christmas break. Whole-hearted display once more, showing great reserves of energy to lead a late charge out of defence as Town picked up another magnificent away win.
10. Fred Onyedinma: 7.5
Lively in the opening exchanges again as he took on the Swans defence when the chance arose, having two efforts deflected behind for corners. Pressed well as the hosts insisted on playing out from the back until he was replaced by Cornick.
11. Danny Hylton: 7.5
First start for almost a year and showed he still has all the tricks, nutmegging Bennett to see his cross-shot saved. Held the ball up well and inches away with a header too. Naturally saw yellow before making way for Jerome.
12. Harry Cornick (SUB): 8
Game-changer proved to be just that, with a brilliant first time finish into the corner of the net from Jerome’s pass to seal a marvellous away triumph. Up to eight for the season now and his return to full fitness will be a huge boost for the Hatters.
