Hatters rated v Cheltenham

Mark Tyler: 6.5 - Kicking was ever so slightly off for once, but made an important save late in the second half to spare McNulty’s blushes.

Michael Harriman: 6 - Couldn’t enjoy the attacking influence he has in recent weeks and had his hands full with Cheltenham’s nippy attackers.

Scott Griffiths: 6.5 - Helped out going forward and although caught out of position on the odd occasion, was solid enough at the back.

Steve McNulty: 6 - Rare off day for the Luton skipper. Despite dominating aerially, got caught in possession a couple of times which almost cost his side.

Luke Wilkinson: 6 - Another who looked unusually shaky defensively and some of his distribution, particulary in the second period, went awry.

Nathan Doyle: 6.5 - Broke up play with his usual authority and tried to get things moving until Hatters opted to go longer than usual.

Jonathan Smith: 6.5 - Unlucky to see his shot cleared off the line and showed plenty of endeavour without fully dominating the midfield

Andy Drury: 6.5 - Tried to get the ball down on a shocking pitch and it was his effort that led to Town’s leveller. Denied a goal of his own by a decent stop too.

Jake Howells: 7 - Good showing on the left flank as he got plenty of joy against the Robins right back. Was Town’s most likely source of creating a goal in the first half too.

Shaun Whalley: 6.5 - In the right place to put Luton on level terms immediately and stuck to his task manfully on a surface that really didn’t suit his game.

Jayden Stockley: 6.5 - Can’t fault his effort, but wasn’t helped by too many long balls flying over his head. Looked more at home when supported by Cullen late on.

Mark Cullen (SUB): 6.5 - Town’s top scorer made an immediate impact and might have done better with at least one chance. Showed promising signs of an understanding with Stockley too.

Alex Lawless (SUB): 6 - Great to see him back in a Luton shirt once more. Try as he might, he couldn’t create a winner though.

Ricky Miller (SUB): 5.5 - Thrown on to try and get at Cheltenham’s full back but couldn’t really make an impact.
