Luton Town have recalled goalkeeper Harry Isted from Wealdstone.

The 23-year-old has played every National League match for the Stones this term, including making a stunning double save during Friday night's 3-0 defeat at Notts County.

However, speaking to the Brent & Kilburn Times, boss Dean Brennan, himself a former Hatter, said: "Harry Isted has been recalled by Luton Town, as they’ve got an injury in their goalkeeping department.

"He’s a young goalie, he’s had some really good performance, and he’s had some below-par performances as he’s young and learning his trade.

“He was outstanding on Friday, some of the saves he made were incredible, but it is what it is.

“We won’t be able to get him back until January now, that will be the issue, as it breaks the loan.

"Football can change very quickly, we’ve got about eight games until January, we’ve got some big games.”

Town number one Simon Sluga had suffered an injury during the 4-0 defeat at Cardiff City on Saturday, injuring his shoulder after slipping to clear Sonny Bradley's backpass and then having to throw his body in the way of Mark Harris's fierce point blank drive.

He completed the 90 minutes, but it appears to be worst than suspected, as boss Nathan Jones said afterwards: "We’ll ice it and see how it is, we’ll have to dust him down and then go from there.

"It’s too early to say, he finished the game, so hopefully it’s not that bad."
