Hayrettin praises Town’s attitude in Waders win

Goals from Charlie Walker, Andy Parry and Ricky Miller saw Hatters overturn an early deficit to triumph as Hayrettin said: “It was very encouraging. We moved the ball well, got at them, obviously we’re going to be fitter as we train full time, but it’s not easy when you come to places like this as they raise their game.

“We had to adapt and be professional and was pleased we did that.

“We’ve got a manager who instils a philosophy and an idea that he doesn’t want reserve team players, he wants a squad of first team players that are fit and hungry and are going to be pushing for places in the first team.

“They did that and as well as development, it’s important to get into good habits of winning.

“We came here to work, came here to do a job and in order for us to do that job, we’ve got to be professional, have the right attitude, desire and application.

“We did that and now we’ve got to take that to the next stage.”

Young defender Luke Trotman was handed the captain’s armband, while midfielder Ian Rees played alongside the returning Luke Guttridge and Hayrettin believes they will have learned plenty from the outing.

He added: “Rees was in line with Gutts, who was always talking to him, so that was encouraging.

“It was good to see some of the new signings like Ricky Miller, Charlie Walker too.”
