Luton Town appointed Rob Edwards as their new manager earlier this month following previous boss Nathan Jones decision to leave the club and head to Premier League side Southampton.
The Luton News takes a detailed look at the career of the former Wales, Wolves and Blackpool defender in a special picture gallery below.
17. Shrews spell and time to quit
Last spell as a professional footballer came with a month at League One Shrewsbury Town, making four appearances. Suffered a thigh injury in training and opted to hang up his boots aged just 31 in the summer of 2013, telling Sky Sports News: "It's been a decision I've thought about over the last few weeks long and hard. My body can't really do it anymore." Photo: Naomi Baker
18. First step into coaching
After his retirement, Edwards became U18s coach at Wolves, his successes being noticed by head coach Kenny Jackett who promoted him to the senior set-up, swiftly becoming first team coach. Following the departure of Jackett and then Walter Zenga, he was appointed interim head coach for two games in October 2016, a 1-1 draw with Blackburn and 3-2 defeat to Derby. Moved back to his coaching role when Paul Lambert came in, leaving Molineux in the summer of 2017. Photo: Pete Norton
