Luton boss Nathan Jones has hinted that either Tom Lockyer or Matty Pearson could well be fit to face Sheffield Wednesday this weekend.

The pair of defenders have both been missing since the 2-0 home defeat to Cardiff just over a week ago, Lockyer coming off after half an hour of the contest when hurting his ankle in a block tackle and Pearson withdrawn during the interval following a tight hamstring.

They missed the 3-0 defeat at Stoke City on Saturday and 1-1 draw with Millwall in the week, but on whether they could return to take on the Owls, Jones said: “We might have a surprise with one.

"One isn’t (fit), we might have a surprise with the other, but we’ll wait and see.

“We've trained well today, it was a really positive performance (against Millwall) so they should be in good spirits.

"It was unfortunate what happened in the last minute, the phantom minute, but that’s another thing, squad-wise, no problem."
