Lee believes Chairboys clash on Sky is perfect for Hatters

Town striker Elliot Lee believes tonight’s televised clash with Wycombe Wanderers is the perfect time for Luton to arrest their alarming run of form.

The Hatters have fallen out of contention for an automatic promotion place in recent weeks with six defeats from seven and now face a real fight to stay in the play-offs.

Speaking after the 1-0 loss at Newport, Lee, on loan from Premier League West Ham, said: “There’s no better game for us to turn it around than in front of the Sky cameras at Kenilworth Road.

“I think the lads, we’re all going to be up for that and ready to put in a great performance.

“We want to put the Newport result behind us and get on to the next game straight away.

“We’ll have a good week of preparation for the Wycombe game and hopefully get the result we want.”

Boss John Still agreed with his young forward too, admitting he couldn’t have asked for a better opposition in Wycombe, currently sitting third in League Two.

He added: “If I could pick a game to play right at this moment, TV cameras and everything, it would be one of the top three.

“It’s great game to play in, and as far as I’m concerned, I really mean this, I don’t care who we play and where we play them, if Luton Town are right, the other team has got to do well to beat us.

“It could be the game we hit that bit of form. With the players that we have, somewhere along the way we’ll find that bit of form back.

“If it’s then, it will be a good occasion for the event that it is, but it will be a good day for Luton Town too.

“Football’s a weird game. We were in the top three, one of those top three might have a four, five games where it doesn’t go for them, for whatever reason.

“If that’s the case, someone has to be ready to step in, so we have to try and make sure it’s us.”
