The Hatters had seen off Leeds United, Leicester City, Ipswich Town, Blackpool and Norwich City to reach Wembley, but in front of 100,000 people, were 2-0 down inside 15 minutes. Dave Pacey pulled one back just after the hour mark, but Town couldn't find an equaliser in what remains the only time they have reached this stage of the competition. Slotted home at the far post to make it 2-1 and give Luton a chance in the final. Second goal of the competition as he also scored during the 5-2 fifth round win against Ipswich Town.
7. Billy Bingham
Luton's leading scorer in the competition, he scored six goals in nine matches. On target against Leeds United, twice, Leicester, Ipswich, Blackpool and the semi-final winner to defeat Norwich City in a replay.
8. Allan Brown
Second top scorer for Luton on their way to the final, as he scored five times, including a hat-trick in the 4-1 victory over Leicester City. Bagged the winner against Blackpool and on target in the semi-final 1-1 draw with Norwich.
