After the first game finished 0-0 at Upton Park, 13,166 packed into Kenilworth Road to see attacker Scott Oakes net a superb hat-trick to see off their top-flight opponents and reach a semi-final against Chelsea at Wembley, where they edged out 2-0. 5. CB: Trevor Peake
Former FA Cup winner with Coventry came back into the side after missing the first game at Upton Park, as he played six times for Luton on the way to Wembley. Long free kick was chested back by Dixon for Oakes to make it 2-1.
6. LM: Ceri Hughes
Welsh midfielder missed both games against Newcastle but was back from the win at Cardiff onwards, with five appearances, as he featured over 50 times in the campaign for Town.
7. CM: David Preece
Midfielder was ever-present in the FA Cup that season, scoring once for Town, that in the 2-1 fifth round victory at Cardiff City.
8. CM: Alan Harper
Former Everton title-winner was one of the eight players who started every single FA Cup match that term as he also made 40 league appearances for the Town as well.
