In a season that the Hatters easily won promotion to Division Two, finishing second to Plymouth Argyle with 97 points, Howard bagged three goals, with Dean Crowe also on target in a comfortable win. Below, the Luton News takes a special look at just who took to the field for Town that day.
1. GK: Carl Emberson.
Keeper played 33 league games with the shut out at Hull one of his 15 clean sheets during the campaign. Returned to Luton as first team development coach in July 2012, leaving in March 2013.
2. DF: Emmerson Boyce
Made 37 appearances during the season as Town easily won promotion to the old Division Two. Had a great career, going on to play in the Premier League and winning the FA Cup while at Wigan Athletic in 2013.
3. DF: Matt Taylor
Had a hand in three goals that day, as he finished third top scorer with 11 goals. Played for Portsmouth, Bolton, West Ham and Burnley in the Premier League, retiring last summer and is now a coach with Spurs U18s.
4. DF: Russell Perrett
One of the mainstays of Town's back-line, with 40 league appearances and three goals too. Won one league title and two promotions during his six years at Kenilworth Road, before heading to Bournemouth and retiring in May 2008.
