In a season that the Hatters easily won promotion to Division Two, finishing second to Plymouth Argyle with 97 points, Howard bagged three goals, with Dean Crowe also on target in a comfortable win. Below, the Luton News takes a special look at just who took to the field for Town that day.
13. SUBS USED: Marvin Johnson
Replaced Valois with 20 to go as the club legend was coming to the end of his Town career that season. Still played 18 times, with 11 starts, scoring once in 2-2 draw with Hartlepool. Now coaches out in America.
14. SUB USED: Adrian Forbes
Had the final seven minutes in place of goalscorer Crowe, as he played 40 times, with 25 as a substitute. Found the net four times and is now back as head of academy coaching and professional player development.
15. UNUSED SUB: Mark Ovendale
Keeper played six times for Luton that season, with five starts and one sub appearance. Featured in 55 games during his career at Kenilworth Road, sadly dying in August 2011 from cancer.
16. UNUSED SUB: Steve Kabba
Striker was on loan for a month from Crystal Palace and made three appearances from the bench. Retired in November 2013 and now work as an agent and personal trainer.
