With the Hatters on the end of yet another poor refereeing decision during last weekend’s 1-1 draw at Sunderland, Amad Diallo awarded a penalty after going to ground in the area, the Luton News ran a poll this week asking fans to select the worst call by an official this season.
To find out what ended up as the winner, see the special gallery below.
5. Jordan Clark's stonewall penalty turned down against Millwall
Bursting into the box against Millwall at Kenilworth Road, Luton midfielder Jordan Clark was clearly clipped by the Lions' Ryan Leonard as he reached the ball ahead of his opponent, only to see no penalty awarded by referee Geoff Eltringham. Photo: Liam Smith
6. Tom Bradshaw's offside goal for Millwall
In the same Millwall game, Luton were on the wrong end of another poor decision when an offside George Honeyman was allowed to cross for Tom Bradshaw to tap home and make it 2-0 to the visitors. Luckily for the Hatters, they hit back against the odds and scored twice to finish with a point. Photo: Liam Smith
7. Gabe Osho's yellow card against Norwich
In the first half of Luton's Boxing Day win over Norwich City, Gabe Osho cleanly tackled the Canaries' Liam Gibbs, only for referee Tim Robinson to not only give a foul against the Town defender, but also opt to book him as well. It was to prove a costly error as Osho was then sent off for a second yellow when cautioned for hauling back Teemu Pukki in the second period. Photo: Liam Smith
8. Sheffield United's goal at Kenilworth Road
Back in August, the Hatters were held to a 1-1 draw by Sheffield United at Kenilworth Road, with Oli McBurnie levelling for the visitors from a corner. Previous Town boss Nathan Jones lambasted referee David Webb and his officials for not picking up two fouls in the build-up, plus an offside as well. Photo: Liam Smith
