Rooney blasts red card decision
The midfielder, who had been handed his first start of the season, was adjudged to have dived in the final moments by referee Paul Tierney, and received a second booking.
But Rooney was adamant he had been fouled and that has since been proved by TV footage.

Hide AdThe winger said: “I was devastated and it’s even more devastating when you look back at the replay of the incident.
“I didn’t even need to look back at the replay as I knew I couldn’t have stayed on my feet if I wanted to.
“I’d been chopped and it was just a ridiculous decision from the referee, I don’t know what he was thinking.”
What made the matter even more galling for Rooney was that while he had to sit out the 1-0 defeat to AFC Wimbledon, Tierney was promoted to the Championship clash between Norwich and Watford, where he controversially sent off the Hornets’ Joel Ekstrand after just two minutes.
