Town’s players are determined to ‘put it right’ when they go up against their fierce rivals Watford in a hotly-anticipated return clash at Kenilworth Road tomorrow according to Luton keeper James Shea.

Back in October, the Hatters picked the worst moment to fold to their biggest defeat of the season, as with fans travelling to Hertfordshire for the first time since April 2006, they had to witness a humiliating 4-0 reverse.

Since then, Luton have bounced back superbly though, as they go into the game sitting in fourth place, just six points behind Sheffield United in second.

For Watford, they are unsurprisingly under new management once more with Chris Wilder taking over from Slaven Bilic, sitting 10th in the table, nine points adrift of the Hatters.

Shea, who wasn’t on the bench at Vicarage Road earlier in the campaign due to injury, said: “Everyone knows what it means to the fans, what the game means and it didn't go well for us at their place, so we want to put it right on Saturday and show what we’re all about.

“I know there is a little bit more to it, but at the end of the day it’s another game where we want to get three points to one, push us up closer to second, and two, cement our place in the play-offs.

"That’s the main point of the day isn’t it.

“It was one of those days when everything went from bad to worse, it was just a shame it happened on that day.

"But it was only three points, they didn’t get any more points for beating Luton, it was just a shame what happened, but we’ve got a chance to make it right on Saturday and I’m sure we will.”

Town manager Rob Edwards could well have been in the opposing dug-out for the clash having started the campaign as Hornets manager, until harshly sacked after just 11 games in charge.

He has shown just what a terrible decision that was by picking up 10 wins from 17 Championship matches to lead the Hatters into becoming automatic promotion hopefuls.

Although much will be made of the links ahead of the contest, Shea doesn’t think it will faze Luton’s boss at all, adding: “I don’t think he would care or bother him one bit.

"It’s not about him, it’s just about the team getting three points, I think he’d give his right arm to get the three points for the team.”
