Wilkin believes Luton can’t be caught

The hosts have enjoyed an excellent season and were sitting fourth in the table prior to kick off, but were no match for Town as they ran riot once more, particularly in the second half.

Wilkin said: “For 45 minutes there’s nothing in the game, it was a close and competitive affair but to let it move away from us and be as ragged as we were in the last 20-25 minutes was disappointing.

“We have to move on from that now though. Great credit to John (Still) and Terry (Harris) and Hakan (Hayrettin), they’ve managed the expectation at Luton very well.

“They’ve got some terrific players out there, a very deep squad and I think it will be difficult for anyone to catch them now.

“You have to give them massive respect. There’s always been that expectation at Luton for them to go and achieve.

“John’s done a terrific job and deserves all the plaudits that he gets.”
