Wilkinson up for monthly award

Hatters defender Luke Wilkinson has been nominated for the Sky Bet League Two player of the month award.

The 22-year-old, who moved to Kenilworth Road in the summer from Dagenham & Redbridge, has been in impressive form since recovering from injury.

Luton didn’t concede a goal with Wilkinson in the side during September, while he opened his account for the club too, heading the opener against Oxford United.

Wilkinson is up against Wycombe striker Paul Hayes, Southend United midfielder Jack Payne and Northampton Town forward Marc Richards for the award, with the winner announced on Friday.
