Tries for Park came from Kyle Jennings, Will Varnals and Liam Taylor as they now begin their Midlands Three East South with a trip Dunstablians this weekend.

On the draw with Queens, club captain Jamie Hoque said: “It was unfortunate that the opposition turned up with only 15 players and wanted to play a shortened game.

“However we still managed to give all 38 players a reasonable amount of game time.

“Much like the last previous pre-season friendly they didn’t disappoint, everyone stuck the gameplan and executed precisely what we’ve been working on during pre season.

“Special mention has to go to the new young lads who for many played their first senior game of rugby against a tough opposition. Every single one of them stepped up to the mark and put in a tremendous performance, with Liam Taylor scoring on the wing in his debut match.”
