Silver for sprinter Sabrina

Super sprinter Sabrina Bakare landed a silver medal on Sunday as part of Britain’s relay team at the World Junior Championships.

The GB 4x400m women’s relay team of Sabrina, Shona Richards, Loren Bleaken and Cheriece Hylton linked together perfectly to clock 3mins 32 secs for silver and the second fastest time ever recorded by a GB junior team.

The US quartet were all powerful on the last day of the championships in Eugene, Oregon, USA, winning in 3mins 30.42secs. Bronze went to Germany.

Sabrina, the 18-year-old Luton runner, is the World Youth 400m champion and has stated her aim is to remain injury-free and qualify for the 2016 Olympics in Rio, Brazil.
