Stockwood Park beat Dees to lift Beds County Cup
Once again this was a fine team performance from Park with the forwards dominant, particularly in the line-out and loose where Ben Griffin, Michael Powell and Justin Harkin were prominent in attack and defence.
Behind them, halfbacks Alex Lovell, awarded player of the match, and James Hankey prompted and probed to good effect.

Hide AdPark’s defence also stood firm as Dunstablians mounted a number of attacks, particularly in the second half.
Stockwood opened the scoring when right wing Ieuan Beale scored in the corner, but as Park relaxed, Dunstablians levelled with their own try by Toby Mead from a forward drive.
Park then re-established their lead when Powell drove over after forward pressure and then just before half time, they made it 17-5 lead when Griffin, a threat in attack throughout the game, scored and Stephen Pollock converted.
Early in the second half Stockwood increased their lead to 20-5 with a penalty from Pollock before left wing, Alex Harnett, went over after excellent interpassing from forwards and backs.

Hide AdDunstablians were not finished and forced themselves back into the game when Ashley Warren dotted down and Kevin Boland added the extras.
That took the score to 25-12, but Park’s defence held firm under further pressure and finished the game on the attack with a further try, scored by scrum half Lovell, to finish worthy winners and cap an excellent season.
