The Stockwood Park Academy marks Celebration of Achievement with 120 awards for students’ successes

The Stockwood Park Academy has hosted its Celebration of Achievement to recognise the successes of its students – presenting as many as 120 awards to pupils.

The awards were given to Key Stage 3 and 4 students who have excelled this year in their learning.

Pupils were also commended for their contributions to the wider school community across Luton.

The commendations included subject awards for the Year 9 and 10 students, who were given recognition for excelling in subjects including maths and English.

A Head of School Award and Contribution to the Academy Award were also presented to the winning pupils.

Head of School Mumin Humayun said how proud he was of the pupils’ hard work: “This was an opportunity to celebrate the excellence on display at Stockwood Park, with staff and the wider family of The Stockwood Park Academy (TSPA) in attendance.”

He added: “We are extremely proud and ambitious for our young people, who are truly amazing.”

Parents and families enjoyed the keynote speech given by life coach and motivational speaker Wessen Al-Shamary, who spoke of her struggles as a young girl from Iraq and how she has become the confident woman she is today.

The guests were also treated to a rousing performance by The Stockwood Park Academy school choir.

Canapes and desserts were served at the end of the celebration –and there was so much food left over, that families were given treats to take home with them afterwards.

Strive, achieve, believe!

Pupils certainly lived up to The Stockwood Park Academy motto of ‘Strive, Achieve, Believe!’ in their latest awards ceremony.

The academy is part of The Shared Learning Trust which offers a quality education for pupils aged from two to 18. It comprises a lower school, two primary and two secondary schools with a sixth form and also offers nursery provision.

The Shared Learning Trust is a multi-academy trust which is responsible for five separate academies. The trust is made up of a group of members and trustees, who take joint responsibility for ensuring the smooth running of all of the academies in the group.
