Two men charged following robbery spree in Luton and Dunstable

Two men have been charged in relation to a string of robberies across the Luton and Dunstable area.

George McAward, 32, of The Mall, Dunstable, has been charged with seven counts of robbery, three counts of attempted robbery, and seven counts of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.

Scott Cerqua, 36, of Hitchin Road, Luton, has been charged with conspiring to commit robbery on 10 separate occasions.

The robberies that Cerqua and McAward have been charged in connection with took place over an 11 day period. They are listed below:

The men were arrested on Wednesday, March 11 and have been remanded in custody and will appear before Luton magistrate’s court this morning at 10am.

A 27-year-old man from Luton who was also arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of robbery. He has been bailed with stringent conditions pending further investigations.
