Fashion students design for Keech

It’s being organised by Central Bedfordshire College fashion tutor Aneesa Kiani, 26, who’s hoping to launch her own line next year.

The former Denbigh High student has always wanted to be a designer but says she fell into teaching when she realised there was such a need in her immediate community.

“I also teach at the outreach centre in Selbourne Road in Luton,” she said. “I do the BTEC level 3 extended diploma in fashion and clothing and most of the students are young South Asian girls and women.

“Last year local businesses helped us finance the show and we raised £600 for the breast cancer campaign.

“It’s now become an annual event, a way for students to get exposure and network with people in the industry.”

The 1920-themed evening will take place at the Chiltern Hotel on Wednesday, June 18 and will feature VIP guest model Sabeek Imam. It will be hosted by London Fashion Week personality Savita Kaye.
