Reynolds ready to defend title in Luton

Luton boxer Jordan Reynolds will defend his English middleweight title at the Chiltern Hotel in Waller Avenue tonight, after the venue was switched from Luton Rugby Club due to a demand for tickets.

Reynolds, who has been sparring at McGuigan’s Gym, where David Haye trains, in the build-up for his fight, is part of the Contender Series which will feature six English title bouts.

He is up against Jamal Le Doux and speaking exclusively to the News/Gazette, Reynolds said: “Jamal normally fights at light heavyweight and is rated very highly in that division but he’s coming down to my weight to try get my title.

“It is a different kind of feeling fighting in my home town but I’m here for business I can’t let to occasion get to me as I’m here to do a job.

“I sold 350 tickets in a week that why we had to change the venue to a bigger one. I can’t wait to see everyone and thank everyone as the support I’ve had is great.”

Boxing starts this evening at 8pm.
