European Deaf Championships in Hanover last month.

During the group stages, Halfpenny came on as a second half substitute in the first game against Russia which finished 2-2, but the points were later awarded to GB after their opponents fielded an ineligible player.

He then played the full game against Denmark, where GB won 1-0 thanks to a solitary goal from Jamie Clarke.

Halfpenny was involved from the start once more in the third game as GB defeated Czech Republic 3-0 to top the group with nine points.

In the quarter-finals, GB were up against Sweden and trailed 2-0 early on.

However, although Halfpenny was replaced at the break with an injury, GB went on to triumph 4-2.

The Crawley Green player had to sit out the semi-final match against Turkey, as GB let a 2-0 lead slip to lose 3-2.

However, he was back for the third-placed clash with Ukraine, in which GB won 2-1.
