Edwards was Luton’s top try scorer last term but missed the end of the campaign after tearing his quad.

The 28-year-old told Luton he would be leaving the club at the end of the season and had been locked in negotiations with Hertford since the end of May.

After completing his summer switch to link up with former Luton RFC head coach Paul Allen, Edwards said: “They have been very accommodating, the club have got a good professional set up.”

The explosive winger returned to Luton RFC following a spell in Ireland but decided to quit Newlands Road after a disappointing season that saw the club finish well below their promotion target.

However, he left on good terms, adding: “I thank Luton and everyone at the club for everything they did for me and wish them good luck for next season.”
