Dees are felled by Forest

Dunstablians lost 34-25 at Leicester Forest in their Midlands Two East South clash on Saturday.

Dees started well as Toby Mead went over, with Kevin Boland adding the extras.

Forest levelled with a converted try, before Dees broke away to move back in front.

Mead gained the yards and a training ground move paid off when Rob Thorne to score as his side led 12-7.

Leicester responded by scoring a try of their own to make it 12-12, while Matt Read was then brought on for Sam Wilkins, who suffered a dislocated shoulder.

The hosts grabbed two tries in quick succession to lead 24-12, but Dees cut the gap before the break as Boland kicked a penalty.

In the second half, Dees showed plenty of passion and desire, but were on the wrong side of several other questionable refereeing decisions.

With limited options, Pete Thompson, kicked a perfect drop goal to put Dees within six points. only for Leicester to add another try.

They soon scored again, before Dunstablians crossed the line again as some great runs by Stuart Calder and Alex Ayres saw Ashley Warren dart over.

Boland kicked the conversion, but Dees couldn’t score again.

Dunstablians are back at home to Lutterworth this weekend.
