Murderers, dance and all that jazz

It draws you into the sultry but seedy world of 1920s Chicago, where flapper girls and smooth-talking gangsters mingle in speakeasies filled with smoke and jazz.

Based on real events in the roaring twenties, the musical follows the story of two murderesses and their experiences with crime, corruption and the rise of the criminal celebrity.

Vaudeville performer Velma Kelly murdered her husband and sister when she found them in bed together, while nightclub singer Roxie Hart murdered her lover and convinced her husband the victim was a burglar.

The two women find their crimes propel them into the spotlight, and become cell block rivals as Kelly is not happy about Roxie stealing her limelight – or her smooth-talking lawyer Billy Flynn – but they both must fight to keep from death row.

The long-running Broadway and West End hit is full of show-stopping songs and daring dances, and whether you’ve seen it ten times before or this is your first visit to the cell block, it never fails to disappoint.
