Cyclists get ready for three-day challenge to help airport charities

The London Luton Airport charity cycle, which includes a local rider from Sue Ryder - St John’s Hospice in Bedford, will pedal overseas for the airport’s charity partners.

The challenge, for beginners and experts alike, will see the group leave Luton on July 9 and cover 233 miles before reaching Brussels on July 11. The group aims to raise at least £30,000 for the hospice.

Paula Rastrick, corporate fundraiser at Sue Ryder - St John’s Hospice said: “The partnership with London Luton Airport has been amazing. The employees are very positive and enjoy fundraising as much as me! To the volunteers who choose to donate their most precious commodity; time – thank you. We could not do this without your support.

“Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice provides incredible hospice and neurological care for people facing a frightening, life changing diagnosis. We do whatever we can to be a safety net for our patients and their loved ones at the most difficult time of their lives.

“We see the person, not the condition. Not only do we treat more conditions than any other UK charity in our hospices, neurological care centres and out in the community, we also campaign to improve the lives of people living with them.”
