Luton Festival of Dance arrives

The 42nd Luton Festival of Dance is fast upon us, with the competition taking place every weekend in March.

The venue for the competition is Lealands School, in Sundon Park, Luton, at every weekend across the month.

A festival spokesman said: “We’re very excited! All forms of stage dance will be represented, including ballet, tap, native, musical theatre and modern dance for anyone aged between four and 21 years.

Performers can work solo, or as part of duets, trios and groups.

“Many of our competitors have gone on to either teach dance or make the stage their profession, including past competitor Faye Tozer, from Dunstable, who is well known as a member of the pop sensation Steps.”

The competition runs from 9am to 7pm and is open to the public, with buffet facilities available all day.

Performers who impress the judges will go on to the regional final held at the Gordon Craig Theatre, Stevenage, in May.
