Man dies in road crash

The 57-year-old man, who has not yet been named, had been riding a red Triumph motorbike involved in an accident with a Mercedes car shortly after 9.15am.

Police say the car had just completed a three-point turn and had begun travelling along the road when the collision happened.

The car driver, a 30-year-old woman, was not hurt.

A full investigation into the accident is under way.

PC David Clarke, the officer in charge, would like to speak to anyone who saw the accident but has not yet spoken to the police.
