Frasers Plus Luton celebrates International Day of Charity by raising more than £11k for good causes
Frasers Plus in Luton has helped raise more than £11,000 for good causes – along with hundreds of hours volunteering.
Since January 2026, the team has already volunteered 375 hours and collected 127 crates of food for Luton Foodbank, in addition to raising the cash.
And it is celebrating International Day of Charity on September 5, which recognises the important work of charities and volunteers and the difference they make within their communities.
Salma Khan from Luton Foodbank, said: “The support we receive from the team at Frasers Plus Luton is invaluable to Luton Foodbank and the people we serve. Their commitment, generosity and community spirit help us provide vital support to local individuals and families facing hardship. Partnerships like this demonstrate the positive difference that businesses can make when they invest in their local community, and we are incredibly grateful for their ongoing support."

The latest figures build on the team’s ongoing volunteering efforts, with 514 hours donated to good causes during 2025 alone.
The team also volunteer regularly at The Lewis Foundation and Curry Kitchen, and work with the local Alzheimer’s Society team to provide monthly coffee mornings for those affected by dementia and support the team with space to hold awareness sessions, workshops and meetings.
Lorraine Lewis from The Lewis Foundation, commented: “We are incredibly grateful for the continued support from Frasers Plus Luton, from fundraising and volunteering to donations and raising awareness. Their support helps us provide free gift packs to adults receiving cancer treatment at Luton and Dunstable Hospital, bringing comfort to patients and their families when they need it most.”
The centre team also works alongside Luton BID, regularly giving up their time to take part in tidy-up sessions around Luton town centre and helping to make the local area a cleaner and more welcoming place for residents, businesses and visitors.

Aimee from Community Interest Luton commented: “A massive thank you to Frasers Plus Luton for their continued support of Community Interest Luton and our projects across the town. From volunteering with Curry Kitchen to supporting Luton in Bloom events, their team’s time, commitment and encouragement help us reach more people and make a genuine difference to the local community.”
And a spokesperson for Alzheimer’s Society said: “We are incredibly grateful for the ongoing support from Frasers Plus Luton, which helps us raise awareness of our local dementia services and connect with people affected by dementia. The centre helps us offer vital information, advice and connection to people living with dementia and their carers, ensuring no one has to face dementia alone.”
From collecting essential food donations and raising vital funds to volunteering their own time, the team is committed to finding practical ways to support organisations making a difference to people across Luton.
Lavinia Douglass, marketing manager at Frasers Plus Luton, said: “International Day of Charity is a great opportunity to celebrate the organisations and volunteers doing incredible work within our community, but for our team, supporting Luton is something that happens throughout the year.”
The next big campaign for Frasers Plus Luton will be the Poppy Appeal which launches at the end of October.
