It's finally happening... Universal adds Bedford to global jobs website
OMG, this is so exciting, with construction set to begin early this year, Universal isn’t mucking about.
The company has updated its website and added Bedford to the location dropdown on its careers section.
OK, the only job listed so far is ‘show producer UK project’ but who cares? The options are limitless.
Perhaps they’ll be a job on the rides at Kempston Hardwick or maybe you want to apply for something in the creative studio. Could a job in human resources grab your attention? Or maybe you fancy your hand at merchandising.

Me? I’m glad you asked – I’m holding out for a job as a raptor wrangler ;-)
Want to know more about the show producer job?
You’d be responsible for the development and management of all assigned project-related aesthetic, show, and guest-experience elements.
You’ll need over six years’ experience in theme park design and design management, theatrical, theme park or other media related design.
Oh, and did I mention the successful candidate will spend time at the Universal Creative Headquarters in Orlando, as well as Bedford.
The website update follows the Government’s decision to give the theme park and resort planning permission last month.
The announcement followed several years of close collaboration between Universal, Bedford MP Mohammad Yasin, the Bedford mayor and councillors.
The resort is expected to attract between 8.5 and 12 million visitors annually and will also provide an estimated £50 billion benefit to the economy, while creating around 20,000 jobs during the construction period alone.
Bedford Today revealed at the end of 2023 how the US company was rumoured to be setting its sights on land at Kempston Hardwick after discovering the news on YouTube – ONLY for Universal Destinations and Experiences to confirm it later that day.
