Timings for The Flying Scotsman in Bedfordshire today
A spring had to be replaced by Ian Riley & Son Engineering after it broke on Monday but following a test run to Scarborough, the Flying Scotsman is ready for its journey south.
Today marks the first opportunity to see the locomotive as it makes its way from the National Railway Museum in York to Wembley, ahead of its official inaugural journey from King’s Cross to York on Thursday.

Hide AdDeparting the York museum at 9.43am, the train will pass the Claypole Loop at 12.53pm, pass Grantham at 1.02pm, stop at the Highdyke Junction from 1.10pm until 1.24pm, pass the stoke junction at 1.29pm, reach the Tallington Junction at 1.46pm before stopping in Peterborough on Platform 1 at 2.01pm.
It will then set off from Peterborough at 2.03pm, stopping at the Connington Loop between 2.15pm and 2.43pm before passing Huntingdon at 2.54pm.
The rest of the timetable into London then looks like this: Sandy (pass) 3.09pm, Biggleswade (pass) 1512, Hitchin (pass) 3.21pm, Stevenage (pass) 3.26pm, Welwyn Garden City (pass) 3.38pm, Potters Bar (pass) 3.46pm. It before arrive at Wembley Eur Frt Ops Centre at 4.41pm.
