Simon Weatherstone had put the hosts ahead in the first half when his 45-yard free kick caught the wind and flew over the head of Guiseley keeper James Coates’ head.

But the Lions came roaring back to equalise when former Preston striker Joe O’Neill netted, only for striker James Walshaw, who has been called up to the England C squad, to pick up a harsh second yellow card for his over-indulgent celebrations.

The two sides will now need a replay, while the quarter-final clash is scheduled to take place on Saturday, February 26, meaning Hatters’ Blue Square Bet Premier trip to Cambridge United, has been re-arranged for Tuesday, March 15, kick-off 7.45pm.

The full draw is Blyth Spartans or Droylsden v Gateshead, Eastbourne Borough or Guiseley v Luton Town, Darlington v Salisbury City, Chasetown v Mansfield Town or Alfreton Town.
